I've been billed for emails that I deleted and haven't used for over 6 months. Their delete account button somehow empties their slot but keeps on billing you "just in case you may assign another email". Then all of a sudden weird emails popped up one day with username user1, user2 etc in the weirdest way. It took a while for the support person to figure out what's going on etc as well as me. Bad experience, bad billing practises, bad support. Stay out.
In 1999, a group of male employees at Jomax Technologies were brainstorming and decided to change the company name. An employee said, "How about Big Daddy?" However, the domain name had already been purchased. Parsons replied, "How about Go Daddy?" The name was available, so he bought it.[12] Parsons said the company stuck with the name because it made people smile and remember it.[12]
Just like VPS hosting plans, GoDaddy offers 4 types of Dedicated server options which are classified based on increasing levels of memory and storage. All dedicated servers come with a Web Host Manager (WHM), unlimited bandwidth, 3 dedicated IPs and an SSL Certificate (free for one year). You have the option to choose between Self-Managed, Managed and Fully Managed servers.

There may be other considerations too. Their WordPress hosting is managed. This means they will take care of the security, caching but you will have no access to cPanel. Their cPanel hosting does not have all the performance and security enhancements but does offer more flexibility in how you wish to configure your website. It will also make it easier to move hosts in the future should you need to.

GoDaddy has rich shared hosting plans, but HostGator still reigns as the PCMag Editors' Choice for shared web hosting services. Like GoDaddy, HostGator boasts unlimited domains and monthly data transfers across the board, and a choice of Linux- or Windows-based servers, but it tops its rival by offering a VoIP number for your business and unlimited storage with all plans.
Kevin – I like to renew for as long as possible. As in: 5 years. It doesn’t cost that much to renew a domain name for that amount, for example. It also forces me into commitment. If I don’t really try to make this website work, I will lose money. And I’ll continue to lose money for 5 years. I like to use tricks like that to force me into action. And you can also use good promotional offers to lock in savings for multiple years. It just makes financial sense.

What about the new Top-Level Domains (TLDs) that ICANN is releasing? Don’t let  competitors (or other peeps with your same name) grab that priceless internet real estate, use the codes below and protect your brand.

I've used GoDaddy for a few years, have four different hosting servers for over nearly two dozen sites and test sites. While the cost of working with GoDaddy isn't terrible (it is getting more costly), their support is very uneven. When it comes to critical issues, like something tanked and a whole site is down, they've generally been helpful with getting the problem resolved quickly. For pretty much all other issues, the response is sometimes good, other times awful. Let's start with some good or at least, not bad things.
I have supported a number of sites over the years, many of them hosted by GoDaddy. When I first started using GoDaddy I was generally able to connect with support staff who understood the technology they were supporting when issues arose, and if the problems weren't urgent, the option of reporting and tracking issues via email was available. Over the years GoDaddy has injected layers of less knowledgeable staff, and it is no longer possible to communicate directly with the folks who actually manage the servers directly. Reporting and tracking of issues were silently eliminated. I awarded a score of 20 instead of something lower because uptime is still reasonably good and performance is acceptable most of the time, but the servers have been acting increasingly flaky (for example, one of the servers randomly changes the fingerprint for its RSA key, which breaks the scheduled backup scripts; for another example, that same server regularly kills the editor process in the middle of modifying a file on the server). GoDaddy isn't interested in resolving the problems and as renewal deadlines come around I've been recommending to the site owners that another hosting provider be selected.
On his Gab profile, Bowers had written “jews are the children of satan” in his biography and repeatedly shared anti-Semitic content and other hate speech. Shortly before the shooting, Bowers allegedly wrote “HIAS likes to bring invaders in that kill our people. I can’t sit by and watch my people get slaughtered. Screw your optics, I’m going in.” (HIAS, a refugee assistance organization, was founded in 1881 to aid Jews fleeing pogroms in Eastern Europe and Russia and expanded in the 2000s to cover non-Jewish refugees).

Hostwinds may be the PCMag Editors' Choice for VPS hosting, but that doesn't mean that GoDaddy doesn't have quality virtual private server packages. GoDaddy's VPS plans (starting at $29.99 per month) offer Linux- or Windows-based servers as well as unlimited domains, monthly data transfers, and email. The specs top out at 8GB of RAM, 240GB of storage, and a free SSL for one year. That's good stuff.
In another instance, we used their premium WordPress support (and I know this isn't actually hosting related, but it's a service they offer). Prior to this particular time, we'd used the premium an average of about one time per year. Each time, they were able to resolve the issue, whether it be with a buggy theme or issue with a plugin causing problems. The last time though will be the last time I use that service. After submitting a ticket and going back and forth with the tech (btw, like the security, these are not actual GoDaddy or in-house folks; it's third-partied out), nothing was resolved. The final solution was to have the plugin dev rebuild the plugin or simply stop using it. Sorry, but saying, "I cannot fix this. Someone else will have to fix this" and then taking someone's money isn't an actual solution.

I've been with GoDaddy for 13 years. I've noticed over the last few years their customer service has become crap. Before, they would help you. Now, it's so good. Each time I call about a problem, the person who answers tells me a different story, which usually ends in the problem not being solved, and then them trying to upsell me on some product I don't need.

Here you'll discover a number of testimonials from happy customers along with videos outlining the sometimes-confusing parlance of web domain language and tutorials explaining the robust features offered by GoDaddy services.

You have most likely heard of GoDaddy (well if you haven’t really been living in a cave on Himalayas) and probably seen one of their outlandish television commercials some time ago. Though, these commercials barely emphasised the web services business of the company, things took a big turn with the arrival of new CEO Blake Irving on the scene in the year 2013, when Blake distanced himself from the provocative advertising approach to change the firm’s culture and brand image. So you no longer see those sexist commercials featuring women, instead GoDaddy is being increasingly recognised as one the best technology workplaces for women. Go Daddy in the recent years has recast itself as web service provider to the small and medium business owners, so the new advertising theme focuses on enabling entrepreneurs and businesses world over with their tools and technology services.
In 2002, GoDaddy sued VeriSign for domain slamming[130] and again in 2003 over its Site Finder service.[131] This latter suit caused controversy over VeriSign's role as the sole maintainer of the .com and the .net top-level domains. VeriSign shut down Site Finder after receiving a letter from ICANN ordering it to comply with a request to disable the service.[132] In 2006, GoDaddy was sued by Web.com for patent infringement.[133][134]

If you have lots of domain names under your management, then we recommend that you join GoDaddy’s new “Discount Domain Club”. Essentially you join their club for $7.50/month (we have a code for 33% off club membership in our list below) and you get exclusive offers and discounts for your domain names. In case you’re wondering why we don’t just join the club, take the codes, and then give them to you: well, we tried that. The codes only work for people who are in GoDaddy’s VIP club. If you only have one or two domains, then the discount domain club doesn’t really matter all that much.
